Synvitrobio: Turbocharging Biomanufacturing

Synvitrobio, founded by Cyclotron Road fellow Zachary Sun, develops bio-based processes for green chemistry. Using ProtoVitro, its next-generation expression platform, the startup offers an inexpensive, cell-free prototyping system that allows for experimentally validated high-throughput data collection. Synvitrobio is hiring a research associate to assist the team with executing laboratory protocols and process development.

Feasible: See Batteries Differently

Feasible, cofounded by Cyclotron Road fellows Andrew Hsieh and Barry Van Tassell, is building products that will redefine how batteries are made and used, through ultrasonic inspection and analysis. The Berkeley, Calif.-based company is hiring a Director of Business Development and a Software Engineer.

Nelumbo: Rethink Cooling

Founded by Cyclotron Road fellows Liam Berryman, Lance Brockway, and David Walther, Nelumbo is developing advanced materials to drive radical, lasting technological improvements to the heating and cooling industry. Our Menlo Park, Calif.-based team collectively represents multiple decades of materials science, product development, and executive leadership experience. It is currently hiring a Research Associate and a Test Data Engineer.

Treau: Heating and Cooling for the Masses

Treau, cofounded by Cyclotron Road fellow Vince Romanin, is a seed-stage hardware startup making home heaters and air conditioners that are better for the environment, easier to install, and more pleasant to use. It is currently seeking a Head of Product for its San Francisco headquarters.

Call for Nominations: Executive-in-Residence

Supported by the California Energy Commission, our executive-in-residence (EIR) program embeds experienced hard-tech entrepreneurs and executives as mentors at Cyclotron Road while they pursue a new opportunity with the potential to impact the electric power sector.

Executives-in-residence are expected to serve for three to six months, with a minimum two day per week commitment. A competitive retainer will be provided, and we are currently recruiting the next EIR. Read the full position description

This provides a unique opportunity to interact with leading scientists and engineers who are moving their transformative technologies from concept to product. The EIR can also leverage Cyclotron Road’s experienced team and expansive network in evaluating the path forward for a new technology or business concept.
