About Activation Energy and Cyclotron Road
Activation Energy supports the world’s top science innovators in bridging the gap from concepts to products that can benefit humanity. As co-managers of the Cyclotron Road entrepreneurial fellowship program, we have supported 42 science entrepreneurs since 2015, leading to 30 new hard tech companies that have attracted more than $80 million in early-stage funding from best-in-class investors and corporations. With support from donor partners, we aim to expand our program offering to new geographies and impact areas in 2019.
In this early career position, the Operations Assistant will be responsible for providing support in all areas of central operations, including office management, quantitative and qualitative data management, grant administration, human resources, and fellowship program support. The Operations Assistant will serve as a full-time employee of Activation Energy, at its Berkeley, Calif. office, and report to the Business Operations Manager.
General office administration and clerical support (customer service, presentations, meetings, and board support, scheduling, supply ordering, transaction support, filing, vendor liaison)
Data processing (spreadsheet, database, forms completion and processing for fiscal management, grant administration, human resources, and fellowship programs)
Document and report preparation on monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc basis
The Ideal Candidate…
Has strong administrative, data management, communication, and organization skills
Has direct experience providing administrative support to multiple departments or across functions
Is detail oriented, and takes pride in getting the job done right and on time
Has proficiency with spreadsheet, databases, word processing software, and cloud service solutions
