Meet Cohort Five

This spring we welcomed our latest cohort of fellows to Cyclotron Road, further enriching an already vibrant community of scientists and engineers driven to turn their technology concepts into commercial products that address some of society’s biggest challenges around energy, manufacturing, and computing.

Cohort Five includes research scientists, recently minted Ph.D.’s., chemists, electrical engineers, teachers, and researchers. Among the co-founders of their startups are two Nobel laureates—Frances Arnold (Aralez Bio) and Robert Grubbs (Cypris Materials).

Of course, they have interesting lives outside the lab, as well. Among these 14 fellows is a guitarist who spent nearly a decade in a punk band, a mountaineer, a classical violinist, three muay Thai practitioners, and a cage fighter. Hmmm. There’s not a lot of down time in their down time.

Check out this short video to meet a few of the Cohort Five fellows and keep scrolling to read their bios and learn about the technologies they are developing.
